JB movie? and series 3 Spoilers

Have just read on another board ( RTD interview posted on Army of Harkness) that filming for TW S3 will be pushed back to August due to a number of things, so JB is doing Maria in Canada in the mean time AND he is apparently doing a MAJOR US movie. Has anyone heard any more gos about this?????
Oh and BTW he is DEFINATELY back for TW S3, BUT there will be major format changes, RTD is keeping mum about what these entail. He did state that DWS4 will directly effect TW S3 though. WOO HOO, can't wait.

Hey WT, welcome back. Hope you had a great trip. JB is doing the quiz show - 'The kids are alright', but he never mentioned a movie project. Have to wait and see. Anything of interest, or info in the latest TW magazine?

Is Maria a movie or a play, and in the movie, is his a major role, is he the hero or the villain? I don't care so long as it's without face hair, except 5 o'clock shadow, so long as he has lots of face time

Carsten, the "Maria," referred to in the original message is a TV program being aired in Canada. "How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria?" is a talent search program to find an actress to star in the Canadian production of The Sound of Music.. It's not something any of us in the U.S. will see, unless one lives close enough to Canada to get their tv channels.

Carsten, Check out YT for Maira clips, there's one with JB surprising the girls with a snog like you wouldn't believe. Also, he has going 'I'd do anything' a talent search with AL Webber for a Nancy & Oliver for 'Oliver'. Lots of snippets on YT of this show as well.

What's supposed to be happening in that Maria clip with the kisses? I came across that on YouTube not knowing anything about the show or what it was all about. I'm afraid I could only watch a small portion before I had to go take a cold shower. Was the British version about finding someone to play the lead in Sound of Music also? (Gosh, who could possibly replace Julie Andrews?)

Hmmm. can't imagine why you'd need a cold shower . I think John's intent was to see how they react when doing an argument scene, and he surprised each woman with a kiss at the end.

Yes
(Gosh, who could possibly replace Julie Andrews?)
Nobody, of course. But musicals as good as Sound of Music and The King and I usually transcend the people who play the major characters. Having said that, I cannot for the life of me imagine anyone else playing the King like Yul Brynner did in The King and I on stage -- WOW!!!

I think the Maria was from Westside story, but I am willing to be corrected. The pash scene was to get the girls used to working in "closer" proximity with a co star and to be able to do intimate scenes naturally. YT used to have the whole segment posted. I have watched it , oh, hundreds of times

Carolion - it was Maria from "The Sound of Music". Connie Fisher, who won, has had rave reviews.

Just checked the Oliver web site, and the only confirmed lead is Rowan Atkinson as Fagin, which is worth the trip right there. If BG is Sikes, I will seriously consider another trip across the pond for this show. I hope he puts a little meat on his bones though, because from what I've seen of the Nancys, they'd knock him about instead! I've designed the costumes for this show before, and it's fabulous. Any news, keep us posted. This would be a nice TW trip for us girls, if we leave the hubs behind. Running amok in London.....sounds good to me.

If Burn is confirmed and Rowan is in it, I'd be interested. My friend is a travel agent, think we could get a group together? I am in the DC area, not far from World-Traveler if we can twist her arm too .

One never needs to twist my arm to get me to London In fact, I'm seriously considering another, short trip in July -- significant birthday this year, so want to celebrate in style.
I'm also considering a visit next spring, as Alfie Boe is doing La Boheme with the ENO and I would love to see that if the timing is right.
BTW, I did buy John's Cole Porter cd while in London. LOVE IT.

I don't think any of the Nancys would knock BG about. He's had a couple of years fighting aliens - and teammates! None of those girls would be a problem for him!
I quite fancy the show as well. Not quite as far to travel for me. Don't have a hub to leave behind, and I think shorty would be offended if I left her behind! Might take a trip with her, she's never been to London.

I'm outside of Boston, so locale is fine to travel. The show runs into March 2009., which would be good for me. Travel in NE during the winter is a horror show. I can plan a great itinerary for 3-4 days. Maybe look into costs over the summer if anyone really would like to go. Several years ago met up here in Boston with a bunch of Eddie Izzard fans who flew out for his shows. Lots of fun. This is a tad pricier though, but who knows. Gyr - Google - Oliver london, and the web site will come up. I think you can pre order, but there all always seats, throughout the run. Where in DC are you? My son is in Arlington. Uh oh, staying on topic, ummm, series 3 looking good..........

My friend the travel agent who planned a great Scotland trip is in the Boston area. World Traveler is in alexandria I think, next to arlington. I am a bit west. August is a nice time over there. Dunno, I should look more into it then.
Speaking of series, would be a hoot to track down some series shooting too! I have a feeling they might be moving the production of both DW and TW to Manchester. They are redoing the Cardiff studios. Somewhere I read they are starting the series shooting later too, in August actually.
Maybe we should start a separate thread?

A new thread - good idea. I'm off to a meeting so I'll check back later. Oliver does not open until Decmber 12th, or so, that's why I thought after New Years might be good. Time to save up etc. Keep discussing......I'll pick up where you leave off.

Some "Spoiler Questions" and rumors for TW S3 and DW4.
If Martha signs on to TW S3 that would be interesting about her fiance Tom. Would it be a similiar playout as to Rhys/Gwen. If that's true then everyone in TW would be paired up--Jack/Ianto, Gwen/Rhys, Martha/Tom. So much for not having relationships in TW.
Rumors have it that Ianto and Gwen appear briefly in DW4 final episode. I can see this happening because I find it hard to believe that Jack would just take off again without telling his 2 remaining team members. That would be outright cruel--so maybe their scenes relate to him telling them bye for a short time.
Rumor has it that Rose dies in the final DW4 episode. Poor Jack--he really loves Rose and to lose her so soon after losing Toshiko and Owen is really cruel.

Rmour also has it that the Tylers including Rose and also Mickey get sent back to Pete's world. If indeed Rose is actually physically "here". Some rumors say we only see and hear her but she's really still in the other reality.

Rumors also say that the 2009 Doctor Who specials revolve around "Rose Tyler, Defender of the Earth."
The rumors say that something done by the Doctor in the series 4 finale causes ripples in time and space that will affect both DW and TW *and* the parallel universe where Rose is. So the 2009 specials are about Rose trying to find the Doctor, and the two of them trying to figure out how to save both worlds.
This same rumor also brings the Master back for the DW finale, and has some really bad news for and about Donna.
This is all speculation that came from a web site associated with Sylvester McCoy. Other people have said that in the past, the speculations presented on this web site have been accurate more often than they've been wrong. I have no idea; I'm simply presenting the information as it appears over there.

Ok what do we have for Facts so far.
1. Jack will be in the finaly of DW along with Rose, Sara Jane, Donna and Martha (all of which have been confirmed) 2. Something wacky is happening with the Bees. (if I remember correctly wasn't the "Reset" drug made from the mayfly. So what are the possibility that the Bees are going to "reset" the whole kit and kaboodal? Just a thought here) 3. We know that SM is reformmatting the shows.
The rest is all rumor and speculation..

That same web site hinted that the 2009 season will wipe the slate clean so that Steven Moffat and co don't have to deal with any RTD left overs. If this means a "It was all a dream" episode or some kind of time shift that wipes out all the previous seasons, I will be mighty P!$$ed off.

We're watching series 4 right now, and it isn't all about Rose. It's only 2 of the 2009 television movies that are rumored to center around Rose.
Here is exactly what is posted
Season 5 2009 notes 50X. Ghosts in the Machines 201. 251208 by Russell T Davies The Doctor arrives in Victorian London and encounters two very different types of Cybermen. The Cybus Cybermen and some diamond headed wraith-like Cybermen (this universe's Cybermen?) They've taken over a graveyard and look set to take over the planet through stealth. The Doctor calls on Rose to help him. Troops of Cybermen attack a major Market place in snow covered London. Donna may be in the special if she isn't killed off in Journey's End.
50S Rose Tyler: Earth Defender: War Part 1 and Part 2 202 110409 by Russell T Davies 290809 The 2 Doctor Who telemovie scripts have been completed and centre around Rose Tyler, Earth Defender, trying to track down the Doctor who's caused some problems in the past, which are affecting the present. Billie Piper returns. This article also says that several Hollywood names have been approached but have turned down the offer to play a major villain linking the 3 telemovies. Hugh Grant was recently approached to star as the villain.
60X The End of Time 2009 Christmas Special 203. 251209 By Russell T Davies At the end of the 2009 Christmas special David Tennant's 10th Doctor regenerates into Robert Carlyle as the 11th. Well, that's the plan. Robert is currently in negotiations.
Other notes for the 2009 season Donna and Martha are not in season 9 as Martha will be full time on Torchwood and Donna turns out to be a bad character, like Turlough! (Possessed by something 'on her back' as in Sarah Jane Smith in Planet of the Spiders) She may leave in the Christmas Special
It's still rumoured that Jennifer Saunders appears as a temporary Doctor either in the Christmas Special or the Children in Need special. Remember what happened in the first Christmas special when the Doctor lost his hand? Well, other things can happen in that period!

Juror, if you're referencing "Dallas", wouldn't the equivalent be Tosh and Owen coming out of the shower together?

Ok, yes!, Jack and Ianto coming out of the shower together could go along way to sweetening and crappy "it was all a dream" ending. At least I would have something to play over and over and over again while I consoled myself about the terrible downturn the show will have taken, hehehe!!
